Our History Our Land Our Freedom

Uniting and engaging our community through socials and fundraisers to preserve our off-road legacy and promote responsible land use.
Over eight years ago, Dirt Rider Foundation President, Desiree Bates began the Fight For Ocotillo Wells as a social media page to engage and unite
off-roaders. Immediately the San Diego Off-Road Coalition took the Fight For Ocotillo Wells under their wing and together started doing desert clean-ups and off-road socials to spread awareness of issues taking place at the Ocotillo Wells Desert State Park.
With overwhelming support from the off-road community and the San Diego Off-Road Coalition we have taken a giant step forward and became the Dirt Rider Foundation.
Now you can support us with every Amazon purchase you make! Amazon will donate a portion of the sale from most eligible Amazon Smile items to the Dirtrider Foundation.
Desiree grew up at Ocotillo Wells. From the time she was 3 months old her parents took the family to the desert with their 2180 Volkswagen sandrail and little 90 Honda 3-wheeler. Till this day she still has that sandrail along with her Beta 300RR two stroke and Kawasaki 250F four stroke.
Ed grew up riding in Ocotillo Wells and has also ridden trials. Ed is a long time motorcycle rider and also has a very long history of fighting for our off-road lands. He is President of the San Diego Off-Road Coalition, Board member of CORVA.
Justin grew up camping and hiking in Borrego Springs with family but didn't start riding until 2015 when he bought his first 1984 Honda ATC 250R, 1986 Honda ATC 250R and his 03 YZ250 two strokes.
